Is one media object enough?

The other night my roommates and i were watching television and talking about other stuff on youtube.com and what not. The thing is we were watching home improvement on T.V. and in the middle of it my girlfriend had to show us all this clip on youtube.com We were watching T.V. while watching stuff on the internet. Wow, all three of us are completely surrounded by all of media available to us, all at once! What a world we we can watching t.v. while watching the internet all at a lightning speed. It hit me how encompassed we americans are in our media today. We need and demand so much with the media, and the media is moving at a speed uncontrollable. I like being able to access almost what ever i want, when ever! It is nice to listen to music online while looking for a new book, and catching up on the current news. Media is such a big part of our lives and it is very hard to avoid it. Not that i would really want to!
